Um, no.

That guys trick was to run a car on E85, get about 15 MPGs, and claim that equates to 100 MPGs gasoline.

Oh, he didn't ever enter that contest he claimed he was going to compete in, either.

How many mpgs did they get in the urban legend where the car gets taken away?

Anyway I'm sure 100+ is attainable

Isn't the Chevrolet Volt supposed to get 100 mpg+? I think it goes into production within a year or two. It's the one that goes the first 40 miles on electricity before it even uses any gas. So theoretically if you have a 40 or under mile commute, you can drive it everyday back and forth to work and never have to put gas in it.
