What has 108,920 HP, weighs 2300 tons, has 14 cylinders 38" across, a 98" stroke, peaks out at an "incredible" 102 RPM, and is 4 stories tall?

The Most Powerful Diesel Engine in the World (http://people.bath.ac.uk/ccsshb/12cyl/ - broken link)

Just figured ya'll needed a momentary diversion from the usual mundane "weakling" 500HP automotive stuff. Ok, so how often do you think they should change the oil? (my guess: NEVER) So...how many miles per gallon do you think they are gonna get? Those main crank bearings look kinda thin to me, but I guess they will last long enough at 102 rpm. Will this engine "blow up" if you race it at 200rpm?....

This thing is one of the most efficient combustion engine in the world. IIRC it use about 0.21 gallons of fuel per horsepower-hour. Similar engines have been used in combined heat/electrical generation facilites for years.

FWIW - it is a dry sump engine and the lube oil is continously filtered and treated while the engine is operating.
