It's a 1987 Ford Mustang convertible.

The bad:
>overall the white paint scheme is not out and out thrashed though there's some rust that's manageable
>needs a steering pump
>white convertible top is dirty
>has a small dent on the rear quarter panel - more of a crease than a dent - someone kicked it with their foot - no other dents anywhere
>needs a new battery
>needs to be cleaned inside and out

The good:
>overall the Fox body is in pretty good condition
>135,000 original miles
>stock 5.0 V8 engine / 5 speed transmission
>no rips or tears to the interior
>the last time we drove it, it ran great
>not a salvage title
>1987 was the first year Ford came out with the Fox body style
>it's 20 plus years old - a car that old is considered a classic

Look it up on Kelly or Edmunds. It is in fair or poor condition. Probably poor.

I would guess around $3000, but that is just a guess. That is probably a bit high. I am too lazy to go look it up.

About $1000, given that it's in moderately poor shape and needs various parts.

To be honest with you, HotOrNot, I don't think the car is worth much.

Unless I'm missing something, and it's a highly sought-after collectible, it's just an older car that needs work. Around here you'd be lucky to get $1,000 out of it.

Sorry if that sounds rude...

Honestly though, if you're trying to sell it, why not check out the price of similar cars on eBay. Or try putting it up on Craigslist. Ask what you feel is a very healthy price. It's free, and you've got nothing to lose.

Body pictures mean nothing if the undercarriage is no good. Whenever I request vehicle pics I ask for undercarriage first.

Fox body started in 1979, not 1987.

1987 was when the Mustang received a dash/interior face lift as well as a front nose face lift.

I believe it's also the first year you could get the 8.8 rear end standard in a Mustang, though I believe the 8.8 rears were 5 lugs...the 4 lugs like you have I believe were the same 7.5 rear which is notoriously weak.

Not sure what your car is worth. I'd guess $2500 just taking a shot in the dark. It obviously needs some cosmetics but the V8/5 speed combo and the drop top I think are the biggest sellers for your car.

You car looks just like the Mustang in The Last Boyscout where they blew it up in front of Bruce Willis' characters house.

Are you sure the 5-lug was available in '87? I thought it didn't come until 89 or so.

If the car has straight panels (never wrecked in the front) you will probably find more interest with people looking to build a drag car. Parts are dime-a-dozen for Fox Mustangs. If it was a triple white (white interior, paint, top) you might have had something if it wasn't so beat up. It definately won't be worth enough in prime condition to cover the costs of restoring it.

I've got a cherry '87 vert, so those cars hold a special place in my heart. Bought new in '87 and still have the window sticker. I hate to see one look so tired.

I'd bet you won't get much more than $1700-3500 for it. The 5-speed saves you. A lot of that depends on how much else needs to be done. Batteyr and power steering pump should be no more than $300. If you're mechanically inclined, do it yourself if you want to move it.
