The newish cars have forsaken the CD players for infotainment Blue Tooth stuff I have no interest in at all.

Also, a good compass or a digital one is hard to find. I have a digital simple compass in my Hyundai and it works all the time. I'd rather not use my smart phone either.
Anyone know any sporty sedans built with these things? 2022 or 2021? (Suburu has one in Outback model.)

These are my favorite important features, unfortunately.

If you have a need for CD players then buy low mi used cars that has them. You can't go pick and chose a modern car with outdated features.

The problem is there aren't any suppliers that sells CD decks at volume, the laser and motors just aren't being made for CD players anymore. So car makers can't provide it.

As for a good compass, why not just buy an analog compass and stick it on your dashboard.

You can put a compass on any car on the rearview:

And add a CD Player to most:

They even have bluetooth CD players

A lot of cars still come with compasses and such, but if not they have add-on rear view mirrors.

As much as i like CD's, even i will admit my CD collection has slowly become shiny play-things for my 4-year old.

Yeah, CDs in cars (like cassettes) are problematic. You have to go digging around for them if you want to play another one, and if you have a lot of CDs (like I did) you can still only carry so many with you, so you have to really want to listen to the same songs over and over. And if your CD changer is in the trunk (like my BMW's was), you have to stop, get out and swap CDs then (and only choose those you really want to listen to).

So I ripped my ~1000 CDs to my computer and loaded them on my phone, so now I have ~3000 songs to shuffle through or listen to as I want (or play off a playlist built around genres, or activity) and can do it with voice command. So much more convenient and versatile. And have them all backed up on a couple thumb drives just in case. (had to give away the CDs as no one wanted to buy CDs anymore)

LOL, why would 2021/2022/2023 cars come equipped with CD players when most stores don't even sell CDs anymore?!?

Mod cut.

Car manufacturers are not going to install outdated technology, just as there are no ash trays, cigarette lighters or carburetors any more. If you are determined to avoid the modern technology, you still have alternatives.

Most new cars have not only Bluetooth but also an auxiliary input (for 1/8" Plug). You can still buy a new portable CD player for $25-50 on Amazon, and a cable for under $10 that together will solve your problem.
