Accord vs. Camry ... Just moved here and am trying to get a second vehicle
Guys,
I am looking at two notably good fuel efficient cars with good track records. However, I have problem deciding which to buy. I have heard that the new Camry's interior is a bit "weak and flimsy". The exterior of the Accord's trunk looks a bit weird; that being said the Honda does hold its value better, but is bit more pricey. CONFUSED! Help!

Neither - get an Altima
Intelligent Key standard
Better looking than either (IMO)
Less road noise than Accord
Cheaper
Better gas mileage
Continuously Variable Transmission

The new Accord appears to be the largest of these cars, so if you need a larger car it's one to look at. It's about 5 inches longer and about 5 cubic foot more passenger room. I believe they did it to go after the midwest US which is more used to larger cars.
I agree that the rear is a little odd, it depends on the color, white looks good, other colors not so much.

People always lump Honda and Toyota together, but if you drive them back to back you can really discern the basic difference in attitude. Honda has always liked to do cars that are sleepy-looking but an absolute ball to drive, and even though the new Accord is now quite large, it hasn't lost that feeling. The motor is energetic, and the five-speed manual is an absolute joy. Throw a curvy road at it and it shrinks around you. The Toyota is more sterile to drive, but feels faithful and solid and has a superior ride. Close the door and feel the pressure difference - it's airtight. Honda doesn't do that. They also have more standard equipment and a broader array of options. So in the end it's just a matter of preference.

The Accord is more fun to drive but both are good autos.

This is not always a positive. Some CVTs are known to fail over time because certain parts cannot be repaired or replaced without a full trannie replacement.
I say go for a manual! So to answer Jamerican's question: whichever one you can get with a manual transmission!
