And yes, I am bitter.
I have worked in manufacturing for several years and have seen what happens when layoffs occur, wages are frozen, temps are brought in at $12-14/hr (with little or no benefits) to replace people close to retirement who made $20/hr, etc,etc.....

It's obvious you're mostly interested in ranting about politics. There's no point in trying to argue with you.
(For the record, I worked in manufacturing for over a decade and was at one time a member of UNITE!. I know perfectly well what a union gets you.)

And that's when every single employee at those plants will lose their jobs because it's not worth it to foreign manufacturers to have to deal with that BS. They will be laid off and the factories will go to someplace like Mexico. And where does that leave those workers? McDonalds....working the drive-through.
