need a small suv
Thinking of trading our 2003 Acura TL on a new Mitsubichi Outlander. Originally I was looking at Jeep. Outlander seems to have what we want in size and performance and it has a 5 year bumper to bumper warranty. Any suggestions or comments?

Already did. Outlander is our first pick. We like the price, the ride, the styling, features and the warranty.

In a small SUV I like the Ford Escape; it's properly "trucky" and is available as a hybrid.
I recently bought Ford Edge but though my kids call it an SUV I consider it a station wagon. It's a real nice car.

Acura RDX. Seems like a great car for those that want a small SUV.

Checked RDX first. Loved it but a bit pricey and requires premium gas .
I won't buy a Ford product. A girlfriend had an Escape that caught fire while parked in her garage. Ford was not good about owning up to the problem.
Not sure about Kia, just like the idea that the Outlander is Japanese and we have had zero problems from the Japanese cars we've owned in the past.
Guess I'm trying to get a feel for current owners of the Outlander, 4 vs 6 and
how is gas mileage and performance, etc.

Not too many people own the Outlander. Have only seen a few in my area. Have checked to see if there are any Mitsubishi messenger boards out there? here is one. Mitsubishi Outlander

I drive a Tucsan... and I LOVE it. It is so compact I can fit it anywhere- it rides well, it's comfy, just high enough... I get about 24-26 mpg in the city depending on air conditioning, traffic jams... and we took it on our road trip in April and got 30mpg... I have had it three years now and there have been no trips to the garage outside of oil changes and the usual upkeep of fluids, brakes, tires... I also have a 10 yr/100,000 mile warrenty- bumper to bumper...
