Read today that GM sales are up in Europe. Ya think they would finally figure out that there are US customers that like a European feel to their cars and don't want them "altered" for US. The European Focus is WAY better than what is sold here. There's a reason BMW's and VW's sell here. Bring some autobahn capable cars here instead of numbing them down for the US market.
First, the Focus is a Ford product, not a GM product. Maybe Ford is still smarting from when they tried to sell the Modeo here as the Contour and Mecury Mystique. Second, GM sells the Opel Astra and Vectra here, mostly unmolested from their European form except to get them up to federal standards.
I have to confess, I think it looks pretty sharp. If they put out an SS version that handles as well as the turbo Cobalt SS did, I'd very seriously consider getting one. My only reservation would be FWD.
Funky contraption... I see a little Malibu in the rear and a little Colorado in the front. Not horrible, but not great either, just kinda there. I see a little Focus in the front fenders, too, which is a good thing. Id like to see one in person to get a solid opinion, photos dont really do cars much justice.
Another car that doesn't know where it fits in with a name no one will remember because it is always changing. No wonder american car companies are in the tubes
Well the name may be dumb, but the market segment is pretty obvious. I don't think there's any confusion about where it fits in, namely the same market as the Sentra, Corolla, Mazda3, Elantra, Civic, etc. In other words, same market the Cavalier/Cobalt/Cruze has been in since the early 80s.
It looks sharp, but it's also the LT which is the most expensive one. I just imagine the base model wont look as sporty.
