Sure, we're free to choose what to drive, but that doesn't mean you don't have to 'pay to play'.
And we're STILL being told what to do.

We are in agreement once again. America is pushing closer and closer to socialism every day.

you silly moronic idiot, where did i say i hate americans (my mother and therefore myself)??????????

You're doing your best from an ocean away to take away our freedoms Robbo.
If that's the kind of country you want, and if you want to consider Americans silly moronic idiots, then perhaps you'd be happier in London. We really don't need any more people here trying to throw away our constitution, and to tell you the truth, I'm getting pretty sick and tired of picking them out of the grille of my SUV.

Never said we didn't. I have no problem accepting the fact that my SUV won't be as fuel efficient as a Civic, and will cost me more to operate on a daily basis. But to suggest that I should pay some "special" tax just because I choose one vehicle over another is asinine.

I think large SUV's are "Stupid Urban Vehicles". Except for certain professions and towing large toys they're pointless. A mini-van accomplishes the same thing at a lower operating cost. But if we start taxing SUV's, what's next? Sport Sedans getting less than 20MPG city? Collector cars running without catalytic converters.
The $4 plus cost of gas is doing a great job of enhancing conservation. The higher it goes the less Mongo-SUV's you will see. If someone chooses to still drive one, great. It's their right to **** away their hard-earned money.

And once again, we're polar opposites. Just because we're headed down the wrong path doesn't mean we lay down and give in. That won't cut it in my book.

I cannot argue with your statement, but drivers of big vehicles should be as considerate of other drivers as they expect in return and it should include not blocking views unnecessarily.

I live near a major Interstate interchange. Your experience is exactly opposite of mine. Perhaps it's because I am surrounded by ridiculously rich people, I don't really know, but I watch SUV's lane dancing, speeding, and tail gating every time I'm on the freeway or Interstate. Of course we do have our fair share of Pepsi cans doing the same.
