Chrysler primarily but only certain models. My current daily driver is a '90 LeBaron convertible with the 3.0 motor. Around 115k on the car, still looks fantastic and probably the single most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. Buick also works well for my tastes and needs. The wife has a '91 Century wagon that's built like a tank. Still looks fine and runs with little fuss.
See, I don't buy new cars or used vehicles that need financing, not my style. I just keep my eyes open for one to pop out of an estate for a couple grand. These aren't junky old things that look like the scrapper is chasing them. They're well maintained, beyond well maintained.
Never owned an overseas brand. No reason, just never owned one. The only other brand I've owned and hope to never own again would be a Ford product. Too many big things go wrong way too soon.
Since I've been driving, all my cars (both new and used) have been GM, except for the Ford Focus I bought last year as a commuter car for work. I would never own a foreign car, except perhaps a Lambo or Ferrari which I will never afford. If I bought a japanese car, my dad would turn over in his grave. He was a GM man from the word go.
My Old Pig Ain't Running. At least that is what we used to say .
Not brand loyal here either anymore. I have had great luck with every Ford product I have bought over the years. Right now everything I own is a GM product, and I am looking at getting a Chrysler product in the very near future. I have owned Opel, Toyota, Nissan, Suzuki, and a few other overseas vehicles as well. I am brand loyal to my hard earned cash, whatever vehicle fits my needs best and is the best value for the dollar, that is what I am going to buy.
Yes, I'm now brand loyal. I've owned VWs, MGs, a Fiat, a Saturn, a Mazda, and Hondas. Of all of the cars I've owned the Hondas have been the most reliable, gotten the best mileage, and had the fewest problems. I really love my current Honda and my DD has already claimed it as hers when I purchase a new vehicle.
As long as Honda keeps producing a quality product that gets good mileage at a decent price I'll be a customer.
My grandfather was V.P of G.M so my family always drove G.M. products. I'm the black sheep of the family by becoming a fan of anything Toyota ! Just like Hondas and Subarus you drive them till the wheels fall off, and that takes a long long time.
With the price of fuel these days maybe this, (see pic) will be the wave of the future !!! Click on pic to enlarge.
My dad was a oldsmobile man and I use to buy GM cars only. My work use to give me a car every year and frankly I saw all american cars go to pot reliabilty wise. But I always had a truck either a GM;Chevy or ford. Then my wife got a Accord and I couldn't believe how relaible it was and now after 10 years it drove like new. Since I buy only honda or toyoto.
Somewhat brand loyal. I have 3 very reliable, powerful and comfortable machines... a 68 DeVille, 93 Caprice 9C1 and a 95 Fleetwood Brougham. GM never really made a bad full size car, though Cadillac's experimental side yielded a couple troublesome engines. My next purchase will be 12-valve Cummins equipped Ram 3500... so I am not completely brand loyal.
Imports have not proven themselves in the non-commercial, heavy-duty arena yet... to me at least.
