k so im still looking for a car because im a little undecisive biatch.
anyways i have a college student budget at 10grand
and though was looking at 300zx and sc400's found out they are gas guzzlers and 300zx are not reliable.
Ive owned a toyota celica gt and its too slow for me though gets good mileage with decent looks.
is an RSX-S pretty good car?
or should i stick with the sc300 stick
what do u guys reccomend?
thanks
I'd look into a lower mileage MkIII Toyota Supra Turbo (1987 to 1991) 230HP, 260 lb-ft of torque, pretty much bulletproof with one known exception: a tendency to blow the head gasket at around 100K miles. It's pretty common to find one with the gasket already replaced, and properly torqued this time. The gaskets blew mostly from inadequate torquing of the head bolts during assembly. If you buy one and the gasket hasn't been replaced yet, at a minimum be sure to get the head bolts torqued to 70 lb-ft and that should do you good. You should be able to find one in very good condition with less than 100K miles for around 5 grand. Put the other 5 grand away for a rainy day.
Another alternative is a Toyota MR2 turbo. However, you'll spend almost all of your 10 grand just to get a decent specimen with fewer than 100K miles. But they are wicked fun cars -- all the handling prowess of a Miata with 50 more horsepower.
The RSX-s offers a great deal of flexibility and practicality as well as good fun. I have a S2000 but it would never work as an 'only' car.
