Car won't play burnt CD's?
My 1999 Honda Accord V6 won't play my burnt CD's, should I try a different kind of disc to burn CD's on, or is this just because it's a 99 and is too old?
Any info is much appreciated, thanks auto junkies!

it's because the CD player is too old.

for about 130 bucks, you can get a decent cd player installed at Best buy that will play them, but the cd player in your car is too old. Remember, in 99, almost no one had even heard of a "burned" cd

well the question is are you putting mp3s on a data cd or burning a cd as a music cd? if its the latter it should work fine either way, since its all the same to the cd player. if its the former, then yes, what people are saying here is correct.

Issue I've come across;
A lot of the older units seem to play CD-R's, and NOT CD-RW's.
So try that.
Idk; Maybe I just screw up a lot of discs.

What kind of radio is in the car, is it the OEM unit or an aftermarket? I've come across only a couple of aftermarket players that had trouble with burnt discs, and like codyw mentioned it's often from a CDRW. Or, is it possible you've got mp3 files on your discs?

If you use a CD-R that is clear, sometimes that will help.
The blue-backed ones are too dark for the older players.

I suspect the operator doesn't know how to burn a Audio formatted CD... you don't simply burn the tracks onto the CDs... I have a 98 Honda Civic and it plays CDR and CDRW just fine with stock CD player...

this proves that accords started playing burnt CDs in 01. My 01 Accord LX plays burnt CDs. Takes a lot longer before playing each track but it plays them.

My 96 accord wagon plays burnt cds without trouble.
Try better cd's. Try burning them at a slower speed. Make sure they arent cd-rw's. Any other players you have, have trouble playing them? Maybe try another program to burn them?
If all that fails, your cd player in your car is out of adustment, or old and tired. Cheaper to replace it than fix it tho.
