I agree okie, sounds like it might be bearings, its hard to tell without hearing it in preson though. Did you get it figured out yet? Hope all is well, can be a tricky thing tracking down things by noise.

I wonder if they used a locking differential in the rear end. Or a limited slip.
I had a locker in my Blazer and it would bind up a bit and pop. It was not bad for the truck, just more of a rear end for off roading.

Haven't figured it out as of yet. Unfortunately my husband has gone out of town and we haven't dove any further into it. I have been driving it to go to the store and around town and have not heard the noise the last couple of times.
I have not been in contact with my mechanic in the last few days. There are quite a few questions you all have been asking and I will be sure to find out the answers.
