Sorry, the G8 is completely uninspiring and hasnt the slightest bit of sexiness to it, unlike the Mustang.

I think the Mustang looks like a fish and a Nike shoe mated. If not for teeny-bopper girls and fat blond chicks, the Mustang wouldn't sell nearly as many cars. Oh I forgot about the middle-aged fat guys trying to recapture their youth.

I like the new mustand...although the late 90's early 2000 models are just as hot. Different look, same hotness.

I like the charger as well. rented one for the weekend and is nice.

However, all in all... I like what I drive, a toyota camry

(just kidding, toyotas rock )

lady, i'm sorry if you were offended by the word damned or god damned or by the overall negative tone of my original post. i dont share your religious or etiquitte conundrums over such things. but i honestly dont see why you chose to inject yourself into the conversation rather than just moving on to something more suited to your sensibilities. but for what it's worth, sorry, lady.

I'm not sure if you're dense or just being a pain, but for the last time I am not a lady.

As much as I would love to jump into this debate with you, I'm not going to do it. Enjoy your thread.

The Grand Am is a front wheel drive American car, the G8 is rear wheel drive Australian car.
it may not be exactly the same as a Grand Am, mechanically speaking, but stylistically, its a frikin' Grand Am.

Quote:
Honestly I think it should have been named Bonneville. It's true to the original namesake, a rear wheel drive performance sedan and the name has history. Performance sedans have been around for decades. I think your problem isn't so much performance sedans as the lack of sports cars in general. The Ford Falcon came before the Mustang and the original Mustang was based upon the Falcon frame. There are some Toyota fans who still think Toyota was crazy to stop making their Celica and Supra. Closest thing Toyota has to those cars is the current Corolla and Scion Tc. No one makes affordable sports cars anymore. Long gone are the days when Joe 6pack could buy a 240Z, a Camaro, a Mustang, or a Challenger and get it ready for the drag strip on the cheap.
yes, you are correct. that is pretty much my point. they, stop production on purpose-built, aggressive looking performance vehicles, but then offer 4000 lb. 4-door luxery sedans with 350 HP motors that could be going into 3500 lb two-door performance vehicles like Camaros/Firebirds. it isnt like these sports sedans are successful. you will never see them in large numbers on the roads, like the way you still see 4th gen Camaros and 5th gen Mustangs. yet they kill the affordable performance car for lack of sales, then act like they are creating something exciting by putting the performance motor into the rest of their bland line-up.

I really just dislike how things are looking so gaudy lately in many models. It also irks me how designers get so dramatic with headlights, to create intricate body lines. Sometimes i think they won't be happy until the lights get raked back to the A pillar.
