Because they do a large business in Heavy-Duty Commercial(Not Passenger) Trucks. They could eliminate the line of vehicles sold for passenger use, but they still need the GMC brand.

The scary thing for honda has to be the distance between the Accord & Camry, almost 50% higher sales. Ouch.
I wonder, though, how many people are "downgrading" from an Accord to a Civic now. Civics have always been popular, but it seems like that is all I see anymore.

I know someone mentioned Carmax, but look at the rental agency stores, like Enterprice, where they sell the cars. Almost all of them are American.
