Here is why:

Is Your Odometer Cheating You?

Odometers in many Honda models have been tested, and on average, they run 2 percent fast.
No wonder they claim higher mpg and "seem" to last "forever".

Ok, this is a Honda bashing thread

BTW, 6 million Honda owners are getting mails for a class action settlement for this one

So the hell what? They're far superior cars no matter what BS someone is spouting about the odometer.

I'd rather drive a 10 year old Civic than a brand new Cobalt.

You can say whatever you want about me, I'm anti american, keep the dollars here, etc...blah blah.
If GM, Ford and Chrylser were abloe to make cars that equaled the japanese in quality, they wouldn't be in this mess today. PERIOD.

OK, so what have we here?
People refusing to look at the facts (even with a link provided) and still calling it BS

One more link where Honda themselves admit this "BS":
Honda says odometers on 6M cars click off mileage at too-quick pace

I can't argue that Hondas aren't reliable cars. But if this is a Honda bashing thread, let me also add that they are boring as all heck to look at and drive. Plus, they went from being a cheap, good deal to overpriced nonsense.

So, they are 98% accurate? That's a lot better than what I would expect from any of the Big 3.

You can bash Honda all you want. I don't want everyone to drive one. A new Cobalt or Focus would start breaking down by 70K. If the Honda is maintained, it will go on and on...I'm at 257K now, and nothing but normal maintainance.

I do think the window regulators are not made well in Honda's though. Also, my intermittent wipers stopped working correctly, but that's been it.

They are within the industry standard, then perhaps they should change the SAE standard if people aren't happy with it.

Like I said. I don't give a damn if the odometer was 50% faster. That means nothing to me. Reliability does.
