Would it help to just throw a lot of walnut shells inside the tire casing before mounting it on the rim? How well do they stand up in a nitrogen environment? At slow speeds, can you hear them clattering arouind in there?
You can also toss a couple of squirrels in. They will chase the walnuts as your tires rotate thus increasing gas mileage.
Living in Alaska (now), and Montana, Michigan, Minnesota in the past - I have several hundreds of thousands of miles driven in winter conditions. So far the absolute best tire owned to date are Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2 Stud less tires, and have had several other versions of their winter tires.
They are amazing, had them on a 2wd Chevy Colorado with locking rear end and never got stuck or had any issues getting started. Had em' on my wife's Explorer and the dang thing would just hook and go compared to other winter tires.
