I was once mugged but the guy was really nice about it, calm, not too threatening and no physical violence. So I gave him an extra $20 I had hidden for the good service. I guess I should also tip the car salesman and the mechanic.
JUST KIDDING! Well, not so much on the car salesman but definitely on the mechanic. The mechanic I have is a good one and I have no complaints about his work or fears about his trying to gouge me or pull anything. You might see a car salesman once and if more than once only again after several eyars in all likelihood. And they're out to get as much $$$ from you as they can, nice guys or not. No, no tip for them. Unless it was an inside deal and a favor.
I am a salesman and sometimes I do make a fat commsion but sometimes I work for for 4 days on one deal and make only 75 dollars on one deal and then go a week and not sell a thing so its hit and miss feast for fammin so to speak. Just Remember the Holiday season is the slowest time for car sales and salesman have familys to.

After sitting in the seat at the dealership and been treated like little kids we exclusively use the internet now to finalize our deals. We send out about 10 requests within a 100 mile radius and go from there.
Those days of sitting there and having the salesmen patronize me are gone. I mean really, do they think most Americans will settle for any price just to get the car of their dreams?
If the salesmen or service advisor are that good I will without a doubt mention my happiness to their mangers.
Not to get flamed but, that waiter is doing anything he can to make my meal (which I knew the bottom line price when I selected) the best experience ever! When I go to pay for my meal the restaurant does not try to get me to take home more food to up the bill.
The car salesmen will offer the car at 23k first.......it is then funny how we get down to 18k out the door 1 hour later. I always wonder....do some people pay the 23k? When everything is said and done, I have to get grilled for an hour over the virtues of seat, tire, paint and engine protection. Yes I listen as I would like the 1.9% financing.

Well, clearly his English language skills would prevent him from qualifying for many types of jobs.
Perhaps he should stay in a profession where he does not have to do any writing.
No way I'm tipping a car salesman. I think the best thing you can do if you're treated well are referrals and repeat business.
