Last time I messed with "oversize" tires was when I replaced the 5.5x15 tires on the rear of my Beetle with 6.35 and a really fat sway bar. That cured the snap oversteer even if the thing could not accelerate as fast but, so what, you measured 1/4 mile time with a calendar with that car.

We kept it for 15 years and 250k miles. Good car for $1500 1965 bucks.
