Default How is the automotive industry?

I am curious to find out about how the car dealerships/sales are going in Evansville.

Evansville, which state?

Maybe you should post up in the state or city forum for Evansville.

Although, without even knowing which Evansville you are talking about, in general car sales are in the dumper.

Welcome to the forum, anyway!

Are you looking for a car to buy? It is the best time to buy. Are you looking for a job? Not a good time to start selling cars.

Here some of the latest news around the world to give you an idea:

I feel for the automotive industry. But it did bring car sales people down to reality. I always hated going to buy a car and they acted as if they controlled your future and where above you. Anyways, I don't wish they lose their jobs. They have families to support.

Not related to Evansville, but here in Houston we've had several HUGE dealerships shut down and go out of business. Hundreds of people lost their jobs from one day to the next.

I know GM is try to cut down on their dealership numbers. But we had a dealer uite handling GM about eight months ago becasue of lack of sales. I had a freind who said they just weren't worth the price of the space used and the overall cost wihth sales dropping on trucks. They went with another foreign brand;korean.

Our local Ford dealership, as well as our only local new/used car dealership, both closed shop on the same day last month. Their lots are now training grounds for tumbleweeds.
