I would have picked a Pontiac 6000 or the Caravelle, although I always liked the LTD, too.

The Caravelle isn't getting much love. Why?

My best friend had a 86 Celebrity in the 90-96 time frame. It was ok although it had the power steering issues. I read that GM engineers referred to it as "Morning Sickness". He sold it to a couple of friends who were moving to Florida and it dies a year later. Was the 2.8 with carb. He then bought a 92 Lumina that was junk. Always had to have something replaced. He now drives a 09 Malibu that has been OK so far. When we were in High School (81-85) he first had a 67 Cougar that was wore out that his Dad would not let him spend any money on so he got rid of it, then he had a 80 Sunbird that contrary to popular opinion actually held up really well. At the time I was driving a 71 2dr maverick with 170/3-speed that I still have.
