The first brand new car I ever purchased was a 1985 Honda Accord LX; it was fully loaded, the sticker was in the mid-$13,000 range, it got terrific gas mileage and had a fabulous stereo ( something American carmakers were very slow to pick up on), and I never had a problem with it.

best car or truck I owned was my 1983 Bronco I drove in college.
It had a 351 windsor V-8 a holly 650 double pumper 4-BBL carb and a C4 3-speed transmission. It got the doo-doo beat out of it on a daily basis.

It also got us up the to the snowy mountain passes to snowboard in winter and got thrashed on at the local 4x4 camping spots in summer.

I will always remember the crackle and popping of the burned out cherry bomb glasspack mufflers after gassing it hard.

I can't agree with you guys more the S2000 is one well rounded sports car. I have had two of them as daily drivers in the last few years and they are just great handling, fun cars. You can take turns faster than most cars, haul a decent amount of stuff in the trunk, drive around with the top off in the summer, and go sideways anytime you like and not have to worry because it is a Honda! I can not rave about this car enough. Basically I am driving an Acura NSX for 1/3 the cost!

My 2001 Tahoe is the best one I've owned so far. It only has 112,000 miles on it right now, but it has been outstanding mechanically. Besides the regular maintenance items, I've had to replace the water pump to block gaskets and the spare tire lock broke. Thats it. Rides great, no complaints about it.

My Favorite has been my Jeep wrangler. Not quite as maintenance free, but a lot of fun.

my best vehicle was the 95 1/2 Toyota Tacoma i drove in high school and college. it was 4x4, regular cab, 5 speed, 4 cylinder, with 33x12.50 TSL thornbirds, and later on, BFGoodrich m/t's.

it was a simple, reliable truck that would not get stuck in the mud, and would not break down. i got rid of it, mainly because its cab was too small, and because i was lusting for a V8.

Yeah, my aim is to hold onto mine indefinitely (it's a 2000 with only 70k on the clock; pretty damn low considering it's a California car, has always gotten either Mobil 1 or Royal Purple synthetic, and premium at the pump), so I don't plan to be without it for the foreseeable future; even after wife and kids, it'll be "dad's car" and sit in the garage under a cover and a good layer of wax! They're really awesome cars. It's never needed any mechanical work, just fluids. Someday, I'd like to pick up a second AP1 (00-03, before they started using the 2.2) to put a hardtop on and turn into a dedicated track demon.

After the body work, it will look like this (just gunmetal colored):

Wider fenders up front, rear fender flares in back... it'll be sweet The fenders have a scoop in them and I'll lose the side package light, so I'm going to get some amber LED strips and mount them inside, so it'll basically glow orange from within when the turn signals are engaged. I'm not a big fan of all those under-car neon kits or anything, but people have a pretty tough time seeing a car that's so low to the ground and grey to boot, so I need to keep a bit of flash just to keep from getting nailed again! It's happened three times

Turbo kit will come with the tax return this year
