If car manufacturers spent as much time designing cars as they do naming them, there wouldn't be clunkers. "Intrepid!"

It is as far as the government is concern because of teh emissions which is what they are after. They osulf otherwaise careless just as texas gave people so much for awhile until the funding in the program ranout. What they really want to do is get hoghemisions vehcioles off the roadway and aftre the program thet are likely to charge a outrageous amount to get one inspected or licensed, that the future ;like it or not.

Obama just loves to pander to people by offering free money to them, in exchange for their support and future votes. What's next? Cash for credit card bill program...

I think this is actually one component of the stimulus that would give immediate boost to the auto industry... Germany saw a 40% increase in car sales and they are talking of extending their legislation until the end of the year.

Hello,

I sure hope it goes through, I want to get a new vehicle and I will do it only if I get cash for my clunker.
$4000.00 would be GREAT.

Otherwise I will have to buy a used vehicle.

Paul

Yes. We should all have our tax dollars go toward helping others buy new(er) cars to replace their clunkers they've run into the ground. Sounds like a great idea.

Hello,

President Obama spoke of this legislation this morning during the announcement of Chrysler's Bankruptcy. Maybe just maybe, Obama will by my car after all!
