My husband has decided to leave me. We only have one car and I want to be the one to get a new car to lower my payments. I need something large enough to cart sports gear around for two athletic kids. I have narrowed my search down to a 2001 Volvo Cross Country with 90k miles for $7800 or a 2002 Jeep Liberty with 75k miles for $8900. Any suggestions on which one to choose?
I am a Jeep fan, so of course, I would recommend the Liberty. In fact, I have a Liberty, and have been very satisfied with it. I have the CRD Limited, with the diesel engine. my only complaint is that the diesel is not available with a manual ytransmission, only an automatic. I really wish it had the manual.
Personally, I would never buy a Toyota or Honda.
A Subaru, maybe. We had a Subaru Outback Sedan that was a great car!
I have 2 '06 Jeeps, and neither of them has been a "money pit". One has 33K on it, the other 29K miles. One had 150 miles on it when we bought it, the other about 20K.

Those little VM Motori diesels are garbage from what I've seen. UPS had them, and we must have did head gaskets 10 times on each unit.
