That was the first thing to go. It has a holley 700 now. I'm planning on changing the heads and installing new rings and bearings. Pictures coming soon. The tailgate is not original, and it has no rear bumper(Ford assumed it was for a camper) GVWR9900lbs.

Sounds good. This truck should have a 140" wheelbase and the spare tire behind a removable panel on the right bed side correct? Pictures would be great.

yes it is 140 in. WB , Yes the spare goes in the side behind the pass. door.
I apologize for not replying sooner, I had to drive to Phoenix and L.A.
(no I didn't drive the truck.Too hard on fuel for that distance, but it would have made it!) Still trying to get my buddy to help me post pictures. I really wish I knew how. Idid however come across a tilt/cruise column. It's from a 79. From what I understand you could'nt get tilt til 78. I will be keeping the original cruise column so it stays with the truck. They're getting pretty hard to come by these days. I also have a fiberglass visor for above the windshield, but I can't bring myself to put all those holes in the roof to install it. some people know what i'm talking about. The truck has been repainted by some amateur fool-why I don't know. I can't find any evidence of bondo or body work. I'm getting oil in the air cleaner that's why i'm going to do rings (and bearings of course) This will not affect the price-but I need time to do it.

With only 61k that 460 still likely has the original timming set which has cam timming retarded about 4 degrees and a nylon tooth sproket which should be changed with a pre-72 or a aftermarket timming set. You will gain some power and move the power band down some by doing that and it would be easy to do while the engine is out. Not sure how to do the pictures myself.

Does anyone know the proper tire size for the rear of this truck? I'm told by a friend they came with 32x12.00x16.5, but he's not positive. Also the fronts I'm told should be 9.50x16.5. does this sound right? Discount Tire out here said nobody ran mismatched from the factory back then. They told me it should take Lt 235/85R16. I don't think he's right, but i'm no tire guy.

I am also looking for a 1953 ford hood ornament. It's the one with little tanks on the end of the wings. The Delta Wing is from 1954. I have the54 , but i don't like it near as much

Your friend is right and Discount Tire is wrong. Lt 235/85R16 is the factory size tire for the 1992-1997 Ford F250/F350 pickups with a 16x7 rim which those rims will fit the older trucks just fine. On your F350 Ford went with the big rear tire kinda like the super single tires semi trucks sometimes use today because Ford needed the extra weight carring capacity and did not want to go with a dually setup like GM did. Your rear rim size is 16.5x9.75 and front rim size probably is 16.5x6.75.
