Good deal, it does not look like a car you bought for cheap anymore, although you probably have about as much in the mods as you do in the car -

looks clean, though i'm not a subscriber to the whole 'black wheel' trend that's going on right now.
i cant say that i am either. i thought it would look good because the car is white and it has that big, black bump guard wrapped all the way around the car. in retrospect, maybe chrome would have looked better.

i'm really starting to consider a 5.0 for a project. are these things friendly to tall folks? i'm 6'7".
i'd have to say no. the seats might go back far enough for you, but everything else feels really dinky. tiny door handles, undersized pedals, and it's a sawed off little car anyway. at 6'7" you might look kinda funny steppin out of one.

how do you feel about second gen F bodies?

okay, so i got the next round performance parts bolted on. i put the exhaust on myself. i dont recomend doing that unless you have a lift or a pit. it would have been well worth the hundred dollars or so to spare the aggrivation of installing an H-Pipe and a Cat-Back exhaust while lying on your back with about 5 inches of clearance. my back feels sunburned from constant sliding in and out from under the car. the headers were no picnic either - way more involved than you would think (involves raising the engine). the Cold Air Intake, Mass Airflow Sensor, plus Full Exhaust really woke up that 302. feels like it has the power of a bonafide performance car now. gonna wait 'til i have the rear end serviced (500 mile break-in) before i have the underdrive pulleys installed. need an air impact to remove alternator pulley.

5.0

the old stuff

CAI

BBK Chrome Plated Equal Length Headers

DANZIG!!!

2.5" Stainless Steel Tips.

what, no underhood shots to show off the purdy headers?

looks good! i'd say the next aesthetic thing should be window tint.

you are correct. next on the list is window tint, and an alarm w/ keyless entry.

Man I wish I had my old 5.0 back. It was a baby blue '83 with a manual trans. I upgraded the intake, slapped on an off-road Holley 600 and tuned it over the course of a year, off-road exhaust, all emissions removed. It sounded & smelled great!! It looks just like that '89 right there but had the 4-eye headlights and no spoiler. It was a GL hatchback (pre-LX days) and didn't have any power options at all except for the brakes & steering. I got it all fixed up and running to sell to some kid after I got married. Man, that thing would run. I kinda wonder what happened to it. You really had to have some skill to keep that thing on the road.

cool. for some reason the underhood shots didn't show while at work.

looks like you may want to keep an eye on those spark plug wires. the heat and proximity to the headers may lead to an early death.
