if anyone's interested, this is the progress of the 1989 Mustang LX i bought for 1600 dollars back in May.

had stock 10-hole wheels sandblasted and powdercoated black. bought new tires: Cooper Cobras 265/50/15 rear, 225/60/15 front. installed CD player, new speakers, amp and sub-woofer. replaced milky looking headlight lenses with clear ultra smoked lenses.

just had 3.55 rear gears installed - what a difference! just had new SSBC brakes installed- front and SSBC drum to disc conversion- rear. and had BBK subframe connectors welded in.

placed orders to Summit and Jegs a couple days ago: BBK Cold Air Intake, GMS MAF Sensor, March Underdrive Pulleys, BBK Equal Length Shorty Headers, BBK Cat-Delete 2.5" H-Pipe, Flowmaster Force II Cat-Back Exhaust. the pulleys, headers, and H-pipe arrived today.

actually, they're not centerlines. they're Boyds. it's the '67 Firebird - you've seen it.

There is nothing that sounds better than a 5.0 with an off-road H-pipe and a set of Flowmasters.

Thanks for sharing. I've never had a 5.0 but always liked them.

Looking good !!
Wish I had the funds to start a Mustang project right now. I miss my old 85 GT. Although this time around the new one would have to be faster, old one went 10's and was street driven. I'd have to at least go well into the 9's and still be streetable.

A friend of mine just picked up a 92 or 93 5.0 LX notchback, with 26k original miles. The car is absolutely spotless and for the most part unmolested except for an offroad exhaust kit and a 4:10 gear.

looks clean, though i'm not a subscriber to the whole 'black wheel' trend that's going on right now.

i'm really starting to consider a 5.0 for a project. are these things friendly to tall folks? i'm 6'7".
