i'd like to see a law that requires people to upgrade brakes when they throw on larger wheel/tire combos over a certain height/weight. if you want big wheels, fine, but get a grasp on basic physics and understand how much braking power you just lost by putting on those giant 26s or 35" mud-boggers.

as to laws against particular types of exhausts on certain vehicles, hell no! enforce a dB limit, sure, but no law should be put on the books that discriminates against one particular type of vehicle/enthusiast.

Mike

I AGREE, but these are the same guys that complain about BASS in cars.

I’m not going to say ban subwoofers (I play bass in a band ). But what I will say is ban the a**holes that go up and down the street with subwoofers and a amp powerful enough to rattle the pictures on my wall. It actually hurts my ears. I’ve often wondered if I could do anything legally as in a civil lawsuit or something. After all, if someone came in my house and started pounding on my ears with a hammer, I could certainly do something legally about that. That’s what the thumping from these stereos sounds like to me--it f***in hurts my head! Let’s have some consideration for others, shall we? If you want to lose your hearing, that’s fine by me. But if you want me to lose my hearing, then we have a little problem.

While I’m on my soapbox, ban those big**s diesel trucks with loud pipes. They sound like s**t.

There, I’ll jump down from my soapbox now. You have a nice day.

Most cities do have laws limiting car stereo volume.

I think we should ban stupid people and keep the aftermarket stuff the way it is. LOL In moderation everything is fine. Its the idiots that dont consider others around them that make it bad for the masses.

Oh I agree. I hate the idiots on Harleys who have a need to rev their motor at a dead stop in traffic to test the limits of my ear drums. Then they take off with their exhaust at 100+ db to increase the perceived size of their testicles.

I can't speak for all areas but I've been stopped and given a warning for it when I was younger.
