It has been nearly a month since the car-buying frenzy of the Cash for Clunkers program ended, and many area auto dealers are longing for the good old days of July and August.
The problem now isn't just a lack of buyers, it's a lack of inventory. One local Chrysler dealer has had little but trucks and suv's to sell since the program ended. Salesman buddy says late September, maybe late October, before any kind of substantial inventory rolls back in.
I thnik its like after thanksgiving and christmas in selling turkeys. Everybody's full that wanted to eat it.I really doubt even GM so called 60 day deal will sale many.
I have seen plenty of cars at local car lots. I knew after the clunkers program ended this would happen. Someone in so.ca was advertising used cars for sale from the cash for clunkers program. I bet alot of engines were not destroyed as they were suppose to.
