Even with the strides that cars have made in recent years, let's face it: There have been some real stinkers, too. Whether poorly executed, ill-conceived or downright dreadful to look at, these 10 stand out for all the wrong reasons.

Lol I definitely agree with the SmartTwo...the cars are really expensive for what you get. Spend a couple thousand more and you can get a Ford Focus or Honda Civic that'll get you almost as good gas mileage with MUCH better safety features. There are much better environmentally friendly solutions out there if thats what you're after.

Ha Ha, the Pontiac Aztec. Ugly as hell, I can not imagine why anyone bought one of those?

That's a pretty good list. I the think the X-type must not be as bad as has been written - I see them on the road often. And I always thought they looked good - like a small J-type.

I would have added the Jeep Commander. Possibly the ugliest "full size" 3 row SUV I have ever seen and not very good either.

Haha the Toyota Echo made the list...man were those some fugly cars.

Surprised to see the Vibe didn't make the list seeing the Aztek did.

Smart definitely deserves that #1 spot. However I disagree with equating a vehicles overall rating by styling. Performance and robustness is #1 priority, styling is a frivolous concern of the point A to point B vehicle owners who know nothing and care to know nothing.

The Pontiac Aztec should be number one on the list.

Ugly does not equal "Worst" on its own. Most of the vehicles on that list are just crappy and/or sold poorly for a variety of reasons. I hear the Aztek is actually a decent mini-van/SUV. But it is SOOOOO ugly that no one bought it.

I dislike the Smart a lot - but if I lived in Paris I might own one.

The worst part about those smarts is the people who buy them... 90% have some stupid vanity plate that they think is clever and they have this pious attitude that they are some self righteous do-gooder, much like Prius owners.

Surprisingly, my list would be surprisingly similar. The X-type definitely ruined the brand for Jaguar. Building a Jaguar off of a Ford Mondeo and using a Taurus grille for the new XK8. Makes you wonder what the hell they're thinking over there...
