Default Quick fix for a leaky tire on a vehicle I'm selling

Long story short; selling a vehicle that I've had for a while now. Just discovered the left front tire has a leak. It didn't use to leak but now it leaks air out in a matter of 3-4 days.

Aired up the tire and spayed it with a bottle of 409. I quickly found out where the leak was....it's a leak in the bead between the tire lip and the rim itself.

I really don't want to invest any money since I'm selling it cheap. I thought first about trying Fix-a-flat but I've heard too many horror stories on the stuff.

Basically I need something to keep the tire inflated and not have it go flat. What about that green slime stuff they sell in stores? Does that work?

Either fix the tire properly or disclose the bad tire to the potential buyer at the time of sale.

Karma is a B**ch!

I agree with John Frisco.. just your post on here could be used against you in court should the new buyer so choose..

Take it to Les Schwab Tire Center and they will fix it for free.

Do you remember where you bought the tire? Do you have the receipt?

Some places, like Sears, will fix a flat for free if you bought it from them. At least, they used to do that. I'm honestly not sure if anybody does that anymore.

Les Schwab does if you hae one of those in your area. I have taken tires there I didnt buy there and they fixed them for free for no problem. If you have one in your area go there and check it out, if not give a few tire stores a call.

Why not just remove the wheel from the vehicle, take it down to any shop and get it remounted? It should not cost more than 20 bucks and a little bit of time.

Any tire shop should beable to grease the rim bead and tire with that gunk grease for no more than $10. I did it last winter to a rims on my car and it work well.

I doubt the green-slime stuff is going to fix a leak along the rim. I know you don't want to spend 'any' money, but IMO you should consider taking it to a shop, have them 1) take the tire off, 2) clean the rim & bead, and 3) remount the tire. Shouldn't cost you but $20. It may not fix the problem.... then again, it may.
