Hello everyone. Just a quick question. I have a 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass. I went to walmart and it was working fine and then when I went to leave it just would not start. It just makes a clicking sound when I try to turn it on. Not the battery, thats new and the lights/radio are working fine. Well I had someone that claims they used to be a mechanic look at it and he's saying its the timing belt. I'm just wondering if a broken timing belt would cause the car to not start and just make a clicking noise...Any advise would be helpful. Thanks so much!
Unless is the solenoid. Since she's a blond maybe she could take advantage of this opportunity. I have in my garage a brand new starter solenoid for exactly a 93 Cutlass which I am giving away for the low price of $4000 plus $95.00 shipping.

WAY too much!
I have one - OEM - for a mere $3000. I'd even throw in free shipping.

As far as I know a 1993 Cutlass has the 3.1 engine which has a timing chain, not belt.

It's possible that it has the 3.4 V6 - but if that's the engine the car came with, it would probably long since be dead.
I had a 1990 Cutlass Supreme, with the 3.1 V6, that ran me over 300,000 miles. I eventually parked it because it was so rusty, and some of the glass was cracked.
Ha ha ha . I will have those two things checked ASAP. Thanks for getting back to me so fast guys!
Always a pleasure to help a blonde...er...a lady.
