I disagree toyta made the Fj that were very capable and reliable and so were the old land crusiers and the toyota tacoma is a pretty good mid-sized truck IMO

China can produce just about anything they can find a market for and with good quality if it is a buyers concern. There are plenty of high tech factories in China and we get crappy goods because the people buying them from China refuse to pay more for better quality.

+1.

The Chinese were the first to come out with a car with a 0-Star crash rating.

12GO,

Toyota has been making great trucks worldwide for quite some time. I am not sure what you have been smoking.

After spending 6800 miles in a new toyota truck, I stand by my statement. It rode and drove like crap in comparision to the US companies trucks. Not only is the ugliest trucks on the road made by toyota, they ride and drive like a 1940's log wagon. As for gas mpg, 15 was the best it got! I'll take the worst of gm, ford or dodge over that p.o.j. over rated toyota anyday. And the supposed 360+hp? overrated by at least 90! Nothing was laid out in a good reachible fashion in the interior. Stuff was hard as hell to use, with a lay out that made zero sense. And that tv screen in the dash, called a gps? That space is truely wasted and shouldn't be allowed in any vehicle. I think the best quick way to fix that disaster is with a bfh and use the hole as a real glove box.

agreed I love my ford trucks but I have to say I would drive a tundra also. I mean it's they only truck with a 5.7 liter with DOHC 4V motor even ford decided to only go with a SOHC 3V in their 4.6 and 5.4 ford kinda went backward with it cause the 99-01 cobras and 03-04 mach 1 mustangs were all DOHC 4v 4.6 V-8s. plus toyata is right up their with dodge in the HP wars it runs 381HP on the 5.7 I-force and dodge is running 390HP out of their 5.7 hemi so they are pretty even on power the downside is toyota is more expensive than other trucks and they don't make a 3/4 and 1-ton model or a diesel engine but when they do I can see them selling them to people that tow large trailers and boats.

poor interiors, poorly laid out, crappy designs. i dont think a blazer or a 4runner ever had a seat back frame that broke and had to have a tsb issued

lol

we replaced TONS of tires on those pieces of crap,.. the goodyear wrangler rt/s was an even worse choice because they wore so horribly, even with 0-.1+/- camber and .5 split on caster, they would eat up tires
