Would You Get Mad If Your Realtor Pulled Up In A $75,000+ Car?
Just wondering what your thoughts would be in your realtor pulled up in a $75,000+ exotic car? Something to the likes of a Porsche, Lamborghini, or Ferrari. Would jealously ensue? Would you think he/she is good because of the car they drive? Would you not want to work with them? Just a friendly poll to see what the thoughts are.

Not sure. My aunt is a realtor and she used to drive her 1993 Toyota Camry LE with 305K miles to meet customers - she was/is still successful.
She now has a like new 2001 GMC Yukon with 48K... the Camry just rests at home now.
One of her co-workers has a new Mercedes convertible that she drives to showings. My uncle is a realtor and he has a 1997 Lincoln Town Car and 1989 Mercedes 300TD wagon. He gets positive comments on these despite their age.

I personally do not really care because I think that if they drive a nice car, they must be good at what they do. As long as they are nice to work with, I could care less personally but I have a feeling this thread is going to be a hot topic from both sides.

Any vehicle is a tool for them, the better tools bring better jobs.
As a seller I would not pick a realtor driving a piece of junk. As a buyer wouldn't you rather travel in your realtors Mercedes? They do at times take you to see many homes in their car.

Around here high end Benzes have been the rage for awhile. Many make a big deal about it.

Depends on what level homes they deal in. If the realtor caters to the upscale homes then having a nice car is a plus. If the realter caters to the middle to lower income homes as well then it could put some of their customers off. Some would think, "gee, guess I know why he charges such high fees". The cars you describe are toys and shouldn't be driven when on the job as a realtor. As a realtor, you're going to be traveling through all sorts of roads,...both good and bad. Some of these homes may have a pretty good curb drop off which will bottom out these types of cars and can cause body damage. A nice midsize luxuary sedan will look very professional, stylish, provide ample trunk space for sales materials like yard signs, easily handle curb drop offs without bottoming out, and still have the performance to thrill.

Looked it up and for roughly the same price, you can get either a BMW M5 or a Mercedes E550 AMG. Both are fast while still looking professional.

Wouldn't bother me in the least. All of the realtors we have ever used(and that has been a good many) all have had some kind of SUV...ranging from BMW, Mercedes, Lexus ....If I'm spending the day in a vehicle I want to be be comfortable and certainly clean.
There is realtor here in our area that drives a old Ferrari.....Guessing she has another vehicle to drive clients around, but have never seen it.
I agree...if they have a nice vehicle, they have found some success some where!

No.
Realtors work on commission, and it's not likely that he/she is going to buy that kind of car without having made lots of sales. Also, nobody is buying a $75,000 car on that one house that I'm either buying or selling.
However, if I was selling a house, I'd be careful to note that this Realtors' percent of sale is no higher than anybody else's.
