Yeah, but many Ford truck buyers buy for function and don't care what they look like. Unlike Dodge, a company that couldn't give their trucks away until they made them "pretty".

Um, those cash for clunkers rebates do come from your tax dollars.

"Without my tax dollars... ?"

You must not be from the states. Because down here, we had this program called "Cash for Clunkers", where we spent our nation's tax dollars to support demand for automobiles.

And don't forget the $5.9billion subsidized loan that the DOE gave Ford this year.

(not holding my breath..)

They are aggressively diluting their shares. I would not even consider holding Ford stock.

That's why I deleted the post, because the meaning wasn't clear and on second thought I wasn't sure the meaning was applicable anyway.

I'd have never bought it...I inherited it 20+ years ago. Wish the hell I had dumped it back when it was worth something...

Why not? I have held Ford stock since late 2008 and bought most of my shares in early 2009. I have already experienced one dilution, and within two days the price had already recovered and risen higher than before the dilution.

There is enough upward momentum with this stock that dilution does not matter. The more debt Ford eliminates through selling common stock, the stronger upward momentum F will continue to see. IMO, Ford will be a $20 stock in a couple years.

The general consesus has been they make the best pickups, and recently with smaller cars they've been beating out the competition in a market biased heavily towards foreign cars.

Detroit will never rebound IMO. I'm an ex-Ford employee and I'm so glad I left that company when I did. Get rid of the UAW and maybe just maybe Detroit will rebound.
Ford don't build quality cars.
Steve-o rumor is correct they are currently revamping the old Michigan Truck plant on Michigan ave for the new Eco car.
