Dropped the fuel tank and broke one of the two Fuel tank vent valve. My question is since it is a special order part can i temporarily block off the one that's broken (there are two) until the part comes in? If so What's the best way to accomplish it?

I wouldn't sweat it too bad, just make sure fuel wont be sloshing out of it. Its just a vent valve.

Not quite the answer to your question, John, but why is the vent valve a special order part? General Motors must have made a bazillion of those vehicles in one form or another.

Have you shopped around?

I would speculate because it is an item that never fails.
