RX7 with some thought behind reliability. I agree with the comment about the RX8 on the first page.
Love the early 90's 240sx and wish the S15 came here.
I'm a late 80's , 90's, Japanese car fan boy. Most of those Japanese "sport cars" looked fun. I say sports car because most people that are fans of American sports cars wouldn't consider those sports cars because it doesn't have a giant motor. But i consider wheelies reserved for two wheel vehicles, not 4.

I agree. I had a 1986 RX7, 1988 Toyota Supra turbo, and a 1982 Toyota Supra. All were 5 speed manuals, and were a blast to drive.

Great post. Same here. 80s/90s Japanese sports cars are the best, actually most import sports cars were the best during that era, in my opinion.
I keep telling people that if Volkswagen would put the classic Karmann Ghia body on the new Beetle they wouldn't be able to keep it in the showrooms. How cool would that car be?

Sweet cars there.
I had a 92 Supra Turbo back in the days (late 90s), filled with HKS goodies including a turbo upgrade. (Ran 11s at Englishtown, NJ back then). A company called Performance Factory in NYC worked on it.

I agree. It's really about style. How about a modern TR6? Sure it would probably be pushing 3,000 lbs to meet safety standards, but one thing about the old EU and JP imports was the style.
Now everything (in the mid range at least) looks rather bloated and the "female lines" have gone andro, IMHO.
I'm now on my 3rd RX-7 convertible. The current one is my DD, with a whopping 48K miles. Not bad for a 21 year old car
I'd love to see a new one, but it's highly unlikely since Mazda's got all the sports car buyers they can handle with the MX-5/Miata. I had a '99 Miata for a while, but I just coudn't love driving it as much as the RXs.
