The Northstars are DESIGNED to consume oil. It is a performance engine with high potential. You want to start worrying if its not burning oil. I believe they were engineered for 1qt/4000miles. However 1qt/1500miles has been seen.

Aside from the Ford/Lincoln/Mercuries, the Buick Lucerne and Chevy Impala can be had with bench seats. I think the Buick Lacrosse can also, up until the current years model.

Thanks all for the help...the older F250's would be cheap(er) and do the job as well.

I didn't know they were made to consume oil...interesting..I read some Caddie boards and they are some loyal people and they seem to know about it, LOL.

They are workhorse engines. They are designed to be floored, the oil consumed is to keep the piston rings nice and happy under heavy load.

Many a girl learned to shift gears in a stick-shift car with a bench seat.

If a gal wasn't interested in helping a guy shift gears, she placed her purse in a strategic location. A smart gal always carried a big, heavy purse for just such occasions — ask your momma.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, you were born too late and missed some fun times.

The first thing I thought of was my '69 Le Mans with the
OHC in-line six and a three on the tree
