Default Were the 1992-99 Suburban's good reliable vehicles?

I've always liked the looks of the 1992-99 Suburban's and I am wondering if they were good reliable vehicles or not, I also thought they were much better looking than the 2000 up Suburban's cause they didn't look so tinny

Personally i thnik that TBI on the 350 was one of their best engines. Reliable and very easy to fix if a injector went bad. I especailly liked the 89 model because with thier chip and a tow package they got great mileage considering. Had lots pof friends that had them and loved them except like all chevy's the alternators and starters went bad quite often.Once they changed the model friends have had nothing but problems with them until the latest model;especailly the 4WD trucks.Once tehy chaged the model and the engine almost all hard cold start clatters and the u-joits and steering shfts were pure junk they never fixed aftre even changing to a new designed shaft.

I have ridden in a late 1990s Suburban and the leather interior seemed all torn up on the driver's seat, I did like the way how it rode

Was the TBI 350 engine the better motor or was it the Vortec 350 engine?

I've been looking to get one - on the cheap - as a work truck, so I've been watching them on Craigslist.

It sure seems like there are LOT of them with mileage over 200,000 miles. I don't know if that means they're too expensive to NOT keep fixing, or if they're just that durable.

I believe it was 1996 when they've increased the power from 200 to 250 from their 350 motors

FWIW, I had a 1995 GMC Suburban SLT (top of the line) 4wd that had 343K when I sold it! The tranny had been rebuilt at 240K. The engine (350) still ran well, but it was starting to leak oil. I sold it in 2006 for $2000.

My uncle always has a Suburban... he had an 88 (diesel) a 95 (diesel) and now an 02 (gas). Loved them all.

Here are photos of my old Suburban taken in November of 2005... it was from up north originally and made many trips from the east coast to California, so it had some rust, but it was overall solid...

They are too big and slow for me, but the 350 and 454 engines in them were bulletproof. They are definitely a good vehicle if you are looking for reliability.
