I am assuming the OP is insured. And, an investigation can turn up insurance fraud rather easily -- it's only in the off the books justice where one could potentially be deemed liable for a transmission from a scrape. I agree that a purse swipe and a swipe by another car are completely different scenarios, although some purses might cost more to fix/clean than to buff out fine scratches.
All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages.
~William Shakespeare
(As You Like It Act II, Scene VII)

Change the adjective word that Llewelyn used ("HIT") to bump, tapped or nudged. I think Llewelyn may have used a far more harsh word than she should have to explain what happened.

For your knowledge ShelbyGirl1, many car alarms can be set off by a dog bark, car door noise or the vibration of a car or truck with loud exhaust.

Also, for your knowledge ShelbyGirl1, (like you) I am very careful and have always taken extremely good care of my automobiles, which are high-end models.

Setting off the alarm doesn't mean much. I've seen plenty of cars with alarms that go off if the wind hits it right.
