I have been on the hunt for a used car:
Simple. Any Toyota. Camry 4 cylinder. Some older ones had a timing belt that needs to be changed. Newer ones have a timing chain.

Nothing with a CVT transmission.

I am happy to say I was able to find a 2000 Honda Civic Lx. It has 133k miles & is in very good shape. It needed new tires, an alinement, which I have done. I got it's oil changed & now is there any other maintenance I should do before hitting the road??
You left out the one thing everybody wants to know!

Today’s Camry and Corolla are junk cars. Those cars don’t last forever. The ones from a decade and a half ago would last forever is what you meant to say.

And why didn’t you mention Accord? Accords are much more reliable than Camry and corolla

It ia all about opinions. like body parts, everyone has one.

The reality is it depends on which specific car you get. Brand is irrelevant, how the car was treated and cared for is all that really matters.

I've been considering a Nissan 350z. If you can find one in manual they're meant to be really reliable.

Generally I like Nissans, but Toyotas and Hondas are great too. If you're looking for more of a family car a Honda Fit is a great option.
