The most reliable for $5000 would be a car that would sell for $10,000 but has a lot of cosmetic defects that do not affect its drive ability or reliability. I/ve bought several cars that hdd unrepaired dings, and lasted forever.
Buy a $10k car that is 100% reliable and 0% pretty, for half price.
