Texan fired from dealership remotely set off car horns at old workplace.

DALLAS - A man fired from a Texas auto dealership used an Internet service to remotely disable ignitions and set off car horns of more than 100 vehicles sold at his old workplace, police said Wednesday.

yeah, that is cool, just shows you how trading security over Liberty can come back and bite you. I bet there will be 100 people wanting that gps system gone from there cars and a money return too, for the expence they paid to have it, or the expence they paid just because its there.

As it is the OBDII violates your privacy, it contains a portion of the last 30 minutes, and can be examined by the Govt, any time they want.

They aren't going to get it. He worked for a note lot, so they are SOL.

If this man can do this over the internet why are there still police high speed car chases?

Because they were sold off a note lot, which means if you're one minute late on the payment, they shut the car off and come repo it. The function was added by the dealership.

If it were just a standard Ford / Toyota / Honda, there is no feature that allows remote disabling.

it also has advatages where if you are court battle and someone is lying and trying to screw someone over they can go to the OBD and get a better idea on whos is telling the truth about the accident and have a clearer picture as to what happend
