The toyota mechanic took it for a ride and said something is wrong?a car does not rev up like you floored it to get back up to speed.This also happened when the mechanic took it for a ride.

I just don't know. My wifes Tahoe puts the hammer down any time it hits a hill on the interstate. I wouldn't say anything is wrong, it's just trying to catch up as quick as it can I guess.

is this Toyota happen to be a rav4 four cylinder?? if so its a common issue with the cruise control up a steep hill and there is a tsb out on it to reprogram the downshifting.. What is happening is that the trans will downshift 2 gears and the engine will rev to almost redline.
