Everyone will ask, "WTH did you buy a Diesel, man''? That is, until they need your help moving something very-very heavy that will bog a gas truck down to a golf cart!

no doubt knowing me and being unable to keep things stock chances are a 4" suspension lift and a set of 33" A/T tires will be on it and reprogramable ECM tuner and a borla exhaust will be in it's future

The power adders they make for Ford, Dodge and Chevy Diesels nowadays are endless.

I have a 2003 F250 with the 7.3 powerstroke. It works for me. I will say when I bought this truck the dealer tried to sale me the new 6.0 diesel. Sure glad I didn't go that route.

yeah I won't be getting too far into modding it I don't want to push it to so much power where I have to start beefing up the tranny. I just give it a little more scoot and a bit better off-road ability. I have my car for brute power and fun just need a solid reliable truck for the daily grind

GTO, another thing with the 12V's is the fuel mileage you get. On almost entirely city driving I get about 18mpg, roadtrips on the highway land me about 24mpg. This is with a 350lb Reunel winch bumper and 33" BFG's. Once everything is heated up with just the flick of a switch and shes running on pure veggie. I spent about a year+ doing a lot of research on the ideal diesel truck and thats what I ended up with. You really want the 2nd gen. dodge diesels with the manuals, can't stress that enough. You get beefy axles ( Dana 60 in front and Dana 80 in back) and 30 more HP over the auto versions.

I know of a 5.9 cummins truck with over 150k miles, twin turbo'd with an auto trans and nothing but a valvebody and torque converter. 1200ftlbs anyone?

That said. Cummins. Hands down better product than a powerstroke. Can't beat the rattle either. Full exhaust, full program, fuel plate and CAI and that truck will put down over 20mpg, and the ford could never dream of that.

yeah I agree the cummins is a better motor but the chrysler auto trannies are terrible that's why I am looking for a stick shift version which seems a little hard to find in both models. I guess it will come down to which truck is in the best shape, passes my local mechanics inspection, has the lowest miles and has a stick. I am going to a few places tommrow to see whats up and test back to back I will also add the 94-98 ram 2500 12V to my list to search for.

who know's if all goes well and I could have a new truck pretty soon
