my first flight instructor used to ask new students "what makes an airplane fly?"

after everyone would fumble around with all the theory of lift and thrust ...

he'd take out a bill from his wallet and wave it around. "nope, it's the folding green stuff".

This is true, I think John Travolta not only flies but owns something like a 737.

If I had the money, I could see something like a Lear Jet, but owning an airliner wouldn't much appeal to me. Maybe I am just anti-social and don't have that many friends..

Many famous people are/were pilots: John Travolta, John Denver, Angelina Jolie, Clint Eastwood (helicopter pilot), Morgan Freeman, Dennis Quaid, Harrison Ford, Tom Cruise, Patrick Swayze & Sydney Pollack are the ones that I know.
