A passenger who became unruly after allegedly drinking too much alcohol had to be taped to his seat on a trans-Atlantic flight, witnesses and authorities said.
The passenger “drank all of his duty free liquor on the flight from Iceland to JFK yesterday,” Ellwood wrote in his blog post.
“When he became unruly, (i.e. trying to choke the woman next to him and screaming the plane was going to crash), fellow passengers subdued him and tie(d) him up for the rest of the flight. He was escorted off the flight by police when it landed.”
I tried to find a humane way to see something wrong with this but after numerous run ins with drunk, rude, selfish, self-entitled people on airlines......I have to stand and applaud.
We had a lady on a flight out of Honolulu delaying our take-off because she wouldn't control her kids. I would have loved to been able to do this. I wouldn't have...but I wanted too lol

Illegal.
According to Federal Aviation Administration Regulations:
Quote:
§ 121.575 Alcoholic beverages.(a) No person may drink any alcoholic beverage aboard an aircraft unless the certificate holder operating the aircraft has served that beverage to him.
yes.....because no one EVER does anything behind a flight attendants back.
We know what the passenger did was illegal.
I was just pointing it out in case anyone didn't know. Passengers who see other passengers doing this should report them to the flight attendants lest they become victims of intoxicated passengers. 9/11 reminded us how important it is to be vigilant of others.
