The first thing that came to mind was "what is in the suitcase that requires a security guard". Then I heard the other ramper telling the guard he was in Anchorage Alaska. Turns out he was suppose to be making sure everything was secure while the plane was being loaded in JFK. When he fell asleep in the compartment someone decided to teach him a lesson.
That's hilarious! A suitcase requiring a security guard to be in the hold with it! But I suppose that thought would come to mind.

So they are strip searching grandma at the gate while someone is safely sitting in the cargo hold. Next time a plane inexplicably falls off the sky I remember this.

Theoretical the guys on the ramp have had a background check done on them.

Grandma, probably not, and those 12" knitting needles can be deadly.

I remember reading about a significant security breach last year and managed to dig up the news report: Airport agent sacked for letting passengers board with gun and knife | Daily Mail Online

It would apppear that a passenger was able to board a flight to London with a loaded pistol in his hand luggage. It was only discovered when he tried to board a connecting flight to Paris.

If that had been a terrorist, I hate to think what might have happened.

Forget passengers. Flight crews have smuggled hundreds of firearms over the years. I always thought arming the pilots was a no brainer. Not sure what to thing now.

Why he was in the hold waiting for the last bags? That's his job, Turn'ed out there were no last bags.

His Conveyor Belt "Partner" Thought he had taken off at the end of his shift (10min Earlier), closed the hatch, and the plane took off.

When the team lead (Ground Crew group of 4) asked where he was, They started to look for him.
