The E/E is filled with neatly laid out rows of LRU's (line replaceable units) and just isn't going to go up in smoke on its own..........
CNN as far as I know has not asked their aviation specialists the various ways "smoke" can lead to a catastrophic event. Of course smoke can precede fire, bomb, etc.
But the time frame from smoke to disaster seems to have been short.
What is your opinion on the origin of smoke and how it led to such little time to save the flight or descend fast and attempt a water landing?
On Monday, a statement from the commission of inquiry issued by the civil aviation ministry said the signals would continue until 24 June. The French research vessel "John Lethbridge" arrived in Egypt on 9 June to join the search for the aircraft which came down between the Greek island of Crete and Egypt. - EgyptAir black box signals will soon cease
Isn't 24 June a little optimistic? I thought that they were only guaranteed for 30 days and the crash was 19 May.
There was a similar Egyptair convocation with Allah in the 1990's off Nantucket.
Yeah I get that but one crash from an investigative perspective has nothing to do with another. An Air Crash Investigator needs to enter an investigation without bias or pre-conceived notions. It does nothing for the aviation industry to do that. So why don't we wait until the investigation is completed. Multiple nations are involved with this investigation who will be able to provide a better picture, in time of what happened than we can by speculating.
I know you're trying to be cute here but in this case its annoying.

And some anti-government guy crashed his Piper into an IRS office in Austin, Texas, in 2010. But I bet you have the sense not to assume that every small plane that goes down in Texas is an anti-government suicide attack, don't you?

I suspect strongly that certain conclusions will be avoided.
Remember how Egypt handled the Flight 990 investigation!
