Growing up in England - mid to late 1950s - my family used to take driving holidays in France most years. We flew, with Dad's car on board, with Silver City Airways from Lydd to Le Touquet. As I recall the plane was able to carry four small cars, or three larger ones, and around 15 or so passengers.

I have no idea what type of plane it was. But here's some footage - plane buffs will be able to identify the plane!

A DC-9 in Somalia in '92.

It was privately owned (1x aircraft airline) and could have been practically any age. It was used on bush airstrips supplying villages and a group of us were ordered to get in it. If we hadn't been ordered none of us would have got anywhere near it.

For all I know it's still flying now, they seem to last for ever those things.

Default Deer on runway.......scare em first before attempt........

BACK IN April or May of1975 OR '76, I was on a my first flight ever (In a C47,aka DC3), from Denver into Missoula ,MT
Scheduled landing was about 11p.m. obviously total darkness.
We were on final approach and the pilot had switched on the landing lights, and shortly there after he dropped down to about 150 feet above the beginning of the runway and stayed at that altitude for the runways full length, then abruptly applied full power and aborted the landing.
I nudged the guy next to me(a frequent flyer into Missoula) and asked him why we didn't land.
His answer was:....Oh, nothing is wrong, it is normal for pilots familiar with this airport to do that to scare any deer on the landing runway out of the way
